Babar Azam fastest batter to reach 4 thousand ODI runs

CRICDOT DESK : In the first ODI of the three-match series, Pakistan are batting at the target of 314 runs given by visiting Australia at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Pak captain Babar Azam took the field when Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 24 runs. Babur reached the milestone of 4,000 runs in ODIs on the way to play an innings of 56 runs from 72 balls.

The Pakistani captain touched the 4,000-run milestone as the second fastest batsman in ODIs.

Babar needed only 72 innings to score 4,000 runs. South African batsman Hashim Amla took an innings less to make this run. Babar touched the milestone in the twelfth over of Pakistan’s innings by hitting a boundary to Mitchell Swapson. India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar took 112 innings and Virat Kohli took 93 innings to score 4,000 runs in ODIs.

However, Pakistan is under pressure to bat for the target of 314 runs. At the time of writing, the hosts scored 133 for 3 in 28 overs. Imam-ul-Haq (54) and Mohammad Rizwan (1) are batting first. Pakistan need 181 more runs in the remaining 23 overs to win, with 6 wickets in hand. If they win, now Pakistan will have to score about 7 runs per over.
