Ashwell Prince steps down as Bangladesh batting coach


CRICDOT DESK : Former South African star cricketer Ashwell Prince has voluntarily resigned as the batting coach of the national team. The South African newspaper Independent has published the news of Prince’s resignation in an exclusive report on Wednesday. According to a report on their website, Prince has left the responsibility to give time to his family.

According to the South African newspaper, Prince will not be with the Bangladesh team for the tour of South Africa next month. Prince, who has played 119 international matches for the Proteas, has joined the coaching staff of Bangladesh along with his native head coach Russell Domingo.

Confirming the prince’s resignation, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Jalal Yunus said, “We have received the resignation mail sent by the prince. He resigned due to family reasons. No decision has been made yet. The next decision will be announced in consultation with the board.

Prince signed the contract until the end of last year’s T20 World Cup. Later in the series against New Zealand.

Under him, the Tiger batsmen had a great performance in the last tour of New Zealand.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently appointed former Tigers head coach Jamie Siddons as the national team’s batting consultant. Even then, it was said that Prince would be the batting coach.

But now it has been heard that Prince and Shakib-Tamim are not in charge of batting. Voluntarily resigned.
