Afghanistan to play 5-matches ODI series with Bangladseh

CRICDOT DESK : The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced plans for a bilateral series till 2023. According to ACB’s FTP (Future Tours Program), Afghanistan will visit Bangladesh next year.

Afghanistan will visit Bangladesh in February next year. They will play a total of five in the tour. There are three ODIs as part of the ICC ODI World Cup Super League. Besides, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will also face in two T20 matches.

The exact date of the match has not been announced but it has been said that the tour will be played in February-March. It is expected that this bilateral series will start after the end of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) i.e. after 20th February.

The last time the Afghanistan cricket team visited Bangladesh was in 2019. During that tour, Afghanistan played a Test match against Bangladesh and a tri-nation series against Zimbabwe-Bangladesh. It is to be noted that Afghanistan has not played any bilateral series since March this year.

By the way, the journey of the new season of Afghanistan will start with the three-match ODI series against the Netherlands in 2022. The series is scheduled to be held in Qatar as Afghanistan’s home series. After that, the Afghans will come to Bangladesh after playing three ODIs and five T20I matches against Zimbabwe.

After the Bangladesh tour, Afghanistan will go to India to play a three-match ODI series. The team will play three Twenty20 matches against Australia in May-June and a Test five-match ODI series against Ireland in July-August. Again, Afghanistan will end the year with two T20s, five ODIs and two Tests against Zimbabwe.
